Eh reviews could be titled "Revenge of the Adults" while reviewers do have valid points about movies. It is still points and opinions. I never have been one to allow others thoughts on entertainment, any form of entertainment, to sway me. What is good for the Goose may not be good for the Gander.

Jennifer Connely is hot too, I concur burt
But really, I don't think I'd kick Megan out of bed because of her toe-thumbs. Hell I don't think I'd even realize she had thumbs ![]() Edited by Scrubber - Jun-25-09 at 8:50am |

I read one review where the critic said Bay missed his target audience of pre-teens, tweens and teens. My first thought was if the movie was made back in the 80s I'd maybe agree. But, I think a lot of people going will be adults who fondly remember watching the original cartoon series and wanting to see it taken to the next level with regards to the action in it.
It's target is to be a summer action flick, cash in on the popularity of the original and hopefully bring in enough to warrant a third. Simple business. If anyone was thinking they were going to be seeing a movie that would be on the list for Best Picture or Best Screenplay, they're naive. Personally, I think many movie critics take themselves far too seriously and in turn, do the same with the movies they review.
That's not to say some (summer) action movies don't suck (Uwe Bol anyone?) but I look at them like rides at a theme park. Some are certainly more thrilling than others but, most all of them are at a minimum, fun and worthy of at least a single ride. Edited by Thibor - Jun-25-09 at 10:57am |

I really enjoyed it, lots of fun with funny, exciting and cool moments throughout. There were a half a dozen spots though where little things like editing jumps, or location things that just didn't make sense that kinda bugged me though.

WTF is a tween? Is that someone in the midst of a sex change? I hear you have to live as a woman for a year before the doctor will do the 'split and tuck'.
Anyway, I'm going to see the movie on Saturday. I for one am glad that the target audience isn't teenagers and trannies, I would probably not be as interested then. The first Trans. comes dangerously close to the problem that Alien vs. Predator had - too much human time. I really don't care about those worthless meatbags and want to see robots (or aliens) smashing each other. |

I saw it yesterday evening and enjoyed it. Had some good laughs over some of the silly puns. I must admit to many robots tumbling around from computer graphics was visually annoying at times. So many new transformers that were not around in the origianl cartoons and as toys left me wondering what the heck they were even doing there other than to be targets. As a sequal is was good but not great in my opinion.

Ebert's reviews usually align with my tastes and even when they don't I still like reading them. He harpooned Transformers 2, of course, but I think I'll enjoy this one anyway. His review was pretty funny.

action. What's funny is that the critics blasted movies for it back then, too. But you know
what? It filled the seats. If this is the case with the new Transformers then I might have
to go see it. I HATED the "human touch" in the first one (minus Megan, of course). I don't
care about the humans... I want a giant-ass-kicking-robot movie.

Saw it today. I dunno I thought the first one was better. This one wasn't near as polished or even have a decent story line.

1 the bot humpin the leg well if you watch with half an eye youll see it wasnt dog like.
2 the story was a direct tie in the with orginal 7 Primes, created by Primus (a.k.a cybertron) and the orginal search orders that caused them to send out the seekers (Jet Fire called Skyfire in the American TV series) was a nice touch.
3. The fallen was one of the orginal Primes thought to be destroyed but fate was unknown. Said to have been corrupetd by Unicron, Primus' chaotic twin.
For those who read not only the American comic that extended from the orginal series, to the continuation of the British comic that picked up an ran after the American folded. It has some very nice story arc intrigrations that brings them inline with the time line set by the first moive. People will love it or hate, totally dependant on personal taste.
I really enjoyed it, honestly i dont pay attention to editing in a movie or camera angles i just take it as is, mainly because if they made it to the point of edting a multi million dollar movie, hehe they know more than me about that.
As far as the "extra" Bots, there always was in the 80s cartoons the "generic" group of characters that never had a name or real function. Can anyone name any of the limitless Cobra soldiers?

Oh man... that sucks. My Bat-phone rang once during a movie like that and I had to leave
with like 10 minutes to spare. Unle Sam is cruel like that sometimes. I feel for ya.
