I agree with the OP.

Summary of changes:

* Aside from talents, Shades of Darkness are gone (too much of a 31 Druid Balance copycat anyway) to be replaced by SHADOWFIEND.  Which is a summoned demon (lol warlocks) that gives us mana when it does damage.

DISC

* Focused Power gave us a damage increase against Dazed targets in the earlier preview.  Priests can't Daze.  But now it's 10% damage bonus against Feared targets.  Time to team up with another Priest/Lock and let the good times roll.  It's also 4% spellhit which is all that's needed for PvP.

* New penultimate talent that for five points grants 5% higher Sta, Int, AND Spi.  (This took Misery's spot.  Misery was moved to Shadow.)

HOLY

* Spirit of Redemption now lasts 15 sec instead of 10.  Much better return in laggy conditions.  It also raises Spirit by 5% all the time.  For one point.  Zowie.

* New talent Holy Concentration.  6% chance to proc Clearcasting after any Flash or Greater Heal.  Next Flash or Greater Heal is free (and probably won't start FSR either.)

* Circle of Healing, new 41 point.  Replaced the dubiously useful Circle of Renewal.  INSTANT CAST PARTY HEAL.  No cooldown.  OMG wtf bbqsauce on meatloaf.

SHADOW

* Improved Shadow Weaving removed.  Was a bit redundant to Misery so understandable.

* Shadow Power renamed to Focused Mind.  Priests made fun of the name; it got changed.  Hah.

* Misery.  Moved from Disc and clarified.  Our two DoTs or Mindflay being on a target adds a 5% spell damage amplifier for anyone to use for any school of magic.

* Shadow Mend cast into oblivion.  Vampiric Touch arrives.  It's a mana-inefficient DoT for 15 sec.  BUT 5% of all Shadow damage caused by the casting Priest gets converted into mana for all group members.  That's 100 MP5 for all group members if a Priest is pumping out 400 DPS.

On my first pass I missed that they made the 15% mana reduction on Flay and Mind Blast cost only 3 points and moved it to an easier to reach tier of Shadow.

The funny part is that now it's going to be a bad idea NOT to tell at least one Priest to DPS full time on hard raid boss fights when healing is being stretched thin.

...wondering if the other Priests took a vacation, had a heart attack, or rerolled in disgust.

I havent really sat down yet to look at the changes but at first glance i am liking them.  My favorite change is SHADOWFIEND... it is like an uber mana pot that i get to use every 5 mins.

I was out of town yesterday...


Hmm...I was sold on healing in shadowform.  That's what my tradeoff was for not being able to fly like a druid.

Circle of Healing is interesting in that it is targetable.  Wonder if that means you can cast it on someone who's in another party.

Dunno...I was most excited by Shadow Mend before so now I'll have to stew on things a bit.

Some quotes from a Bliz dev might be useful here:

"At level 70 (and unbuffed in any way), the shadowfiend currently generates around 2800 mana over its duration. The shadowfiend deals shadow damage though, so it gains the benefit of effects such as Shadow Weaving."

Shadowfiend may end up being meh -- 2800 (+modifiers) isn't that bad, but the key is over its duration.  Keeping a pet up in boss fights can be hard.  Does it have to be in melee range doing damage like the VW or Succy or is it ranged damage like the Imp?  If melee, that limits it further.  I think it'll be more useful towards reducing downtime during trash clearing, since trash less commonly has tricks that shorten pet life. =/

bah to priest, i'd say druid should have some alliance only or cow only special skill.
